This may feel like a "prison moment" for you.
Yes, even during this bizarre turn of events in your life, or this unplanned + unexpected hiccup. Even during the daunting season that seems to have no end. Stop trying to figure it out. Know that God is up to something.
Peter was tasked with sharing Jesus with both the religious Jews and the “out of touch” Gentiles. He had really just embraced his role and was in a groove of preaching the truth when he found himself locked and chained in prison in Acts 12. Unexpected. Unplanned. A quick turn of events.
What Peter knew:
- Prison didn’t fit into Peters plan. No one on a mission has time for that.
- Prison didn’t make any sense to the calling that God placed on Peters life to “GO!”.
- Prison probably felt like God had looked away from Peters life for the moment.
But God knew that:
- Prison was essential to God’s plan.
- Prison was a catalyst, not a mistake.
- Prison was proof that God was working.
Friends, God includes “prison moments” in our life on purpose and for a purpose. But we have to stop trying to figure out WHY and focus on the fact that we get to trust our God Who is totally up to something good.
We will always look back and praise God for those metaphorical four-walled, life-changing seasons that made Him more real and our purpose more clear. I hope you’re down for anything because He’s totally up to something.
With Love,
Em
